Nestled in Chianti Classico’s Ema Valley at an elevation of 550 meters, this biodynamic estate boasts stunning views of Florence and showcases the authentic character of Tuscany’s terroir.
I first met winemaker Simone Zemella at an off-tasting event, where his passion for this historic estate was immediately clear. Since joining the Schneider family in 2015, Simone has revitalized the vineyards with biodynamic practices, organic certification, and a low-intervention approach that allows the purity of each wine to shine.
The estate’s rare sandstone and schist soils bring a refined elegance to their cool-climate Syrah and Sangiovese. The Fonte Domini with a Northern Rhône influence, reflect Simone’s skillful planting on north-facing slopes to capture the region’s natural freshness.
Musignana, the estate’s latest 100% Sangiovese Cuvée, is crafted without oak, revealing a beautifully layered complexity. Certified organic since 1998 and biodynamic since 2019, the estate is dedicated to sustainable viticulture. With Simone’s training in Bordeaux and Côte-Rôtie, each wine is crafted with respect for the land, capturing the essence of Tuscany’s vibrant and diverse terroir.
